Recycle

The city is finally getting serious about recycling which means that Frankford will start getting better service this week.

Starting this week, the city’s single-stream recycling program is expanding to North Philadelphia, and parts of the lower Northeast, including Frankford and Logan.

Coordinator Scott McGrath says it now includes nearly half a million homes:

“Residents can put all their recycling out in one or more bins and they can also add #1 and #2 plastics and they can add cardboard, if it’s flattened, which makes it easier for us to get it in the trucks.”

But it is still only every other week.  Weekly recycling for us will start next year.  Read the story at kyw1060.com.
