The Flying Dutchman

Old as I am, I remember hearing about the Flying Dutchman airport.  Didn’t know anything about the guy behind the name.  Dr. Harry C. Silcox and Jack McCarthy fill in the blanks in this weeks Northeast Times.  Read it here.

New principal at Frankford high

Thug culture

Interesting piece in the Inquirer this morning on the Thug culture.

Two uniformed police officers chased a teenager, who had a suspicious bulge in the front pocket of his sweatshirt, into the courtyard of an East Frankford housing project, said Lt. Frank Vanore, a police spokesman. The teen pulled out a gun, then the officers drew theirs and one officer fired once.
