Frankford Home of the week

This week we’re on the 4700 block of James Street.  If you are old enough to remember Blumenthal Brothers chocolate factory on Margaret Street you will know this block.  One of my earliest memories is of passing by the factory on the way to my grandparents and being enveloped by the overwhelming smell of chocolate.  They were making Goobers, Raisinets and Sno Caps.  Very popular at the movies.  The folks in these houses looked right into the back of the plant.

They are a pair of neat twins with those unusual bricks. I’m not sure what you call them but they are harder than the ordinary red brick.
