(map)Description – The 2011 Hope 4 Philly Event will be held on Saturday, September 17th, 2011 at the field next to Harding Middle School (Corner of Margaret and Ditman). Hope 4 Philly is sponsored by the Convoy of Hope which is affiliated with the Faith Assembly of God Church located right here in Frankford. I am encouraging you all to donate or find out how you can volunteer for this event. The church provided, free groceries, haircuts, health screenings, and school supplies to over 3000 families last year and they are expecting over 5000 families this year. The Northeast EPIC will be contributing to this event by collecting backpacks and school supplies for 1500 students. To find out how you can contribute to this event please visit hope4philly.org

There will be a children’s Chalk Art Contest, with prizes, Tree Identifying and Mapping for kids and adults who want to join in, Leaf related art projects and games, and refreshments! Please come out and join in the fun!
The park is looking great this summer so there is lots of inspiration to get your artistic juices flowing. We found out over this summer that our trees date back to the Civil War era. We need to get them on the map. Can you guess what tree stood watch during 1861? Come out and find the answers. Hope to see you there!
