Mystery Cemetery

Hidden in plain sight is a cemetery that appears to go way back. I’ve passed this location hundreds of times and never noticed it until I got a tip a few weeks go. I’m not sure if there is any documentation about who is buried there. Cemeteries are a part of history that is easy to overlook. Anybody have a clue?

I think that we have to guess it.
This is quite a challenge for the history buffs out there.

I believe the mystery cemetery is behind a church on Paul St. down from the post office, on the left side of the street. I use to run an art program in the church, but I don’t know its name. I also looked at the house next door to the church 20 years ago when I bought my home on Orthodox St. . It was a strange house with heating radiators standing about a foot into each room and the staircase was pulling away from the wall. Love reading your sight! Diane

There is a long history laying in this cemetery on Paul Street.
Rehoboth Church in Philadelphia is the mother church of Frankford Methodism. It was founded in 1829 and first met in a former academy building where Stephen Decatur went to school.
Their first church was built in 1834 beside the Academy which stood on what is now Paul Street, above Torresdale Avenue. The church closed in 1999 when it merged with Central Methodist Church, which also closed in 2005. The original records of Rehoboth Church are now maintained at:
