  • Garden Club’s Annual Day-Before-Mother’s Day Plant Sale

    Description – Once again, it is time for the Frankford Garden Club’s Annual Day-Before-Mother’s Day Plant Sale! Come early if you want the best pickings! We will have Hanging Baskets for $12 4packs and flats of marigolds, impatiens, coleus, and more potted Geraniums, Patio Tomatoes and more These are great plants, grown by a local family-owned nursery, for great, low prices! Frankford Garden Club members will be on hand to answer questions and offer gardening advice. All proceeds benefit the Frankford Garden Club

    Description – There will be a re-dedication ceremony for 33 newly installed Federal military gravestones for the Union veterans buried in the “Circle of Honor” surrounding the monument. This is the culmination of phase 1 with the repair, cleaning, sealing, and preservation of the monument itself designated as phase 2.

    Description – Dr. David Hewitt, botanist from the Academy of Natural Science and a member of the Philadelphia Historic Plants Consortium is leading the walk.

  • Tony Payton Presents a Senior Fair

    Description – The event is free and includes prizes, music, food and Zumba classes. There will be lots of useful information on local and state programs that are geared towards seniors, and more importantly, it’s a chance for me to hear directly from you about what’s on your mind. In addition, local and state agencies will be present to talk to seniors about their services and hand out information.     Description – We will be planting our flower beds, seeding the beds and giving away seed packs to our volunteers. We are also having a perennial plant sale at the same time in the park. We will be selling plants gathered by our members, the Frankford Garden Club, and anyone else who would like to donate their overflow of plants. As we get closer I might have more information on what plants are available.

    Description – PhillyRising will be hosting a Summer Camp Expo at Gambrell Rec Center.The expo is an opportunity for parents to find out about summer camp providers in their neighborhood. It is provided as a service to the public; there is no cost to providers for hosting a table and no cost to residents to attend.
