Veteran of the Month: William (Junie) Fletcher

William (Junie) Fletcher was born on March 16, 1939 in the Frankford section of Philadelphia. Junie, as he was known, went to the following school: Henry Elementary, Harding Junior High and he graduated from Frankford High School. Junie joined the Army during the Korean conflict. He finished his basic training at Fort Hood, Texas. Junie received several awards during his training and was promoted to E-3 (Private First Class) and then served the rest of his military duties overseas. Junie was honorably discharged after his years of service.

Junie was baptized at a young age and was a dedicated member of Second Baptist Church. Junie also love being involved in community services. He loved baseball, football and shooting a game of pool. He also enjoyed parties and family gatherings. William (Junie) Fletcher left this world at a young age. He was very much loved by friends in Frankford section and loved and missed by his family and his memory is carved into their hearts and minds forever.
