More Construction on the Way to Frankford Avenue

Seth Haffner P.E., Project Manager-Transit for SEPTA talked about the ongoing reconstruction of the Arrott Transportation Center at the Frankford Business and Professional Association meeting at Aria Jefferson Hospital on February 21st.  They are doing their best to minimize traffic disruption but at the least there will be times when one side of the Avenue or the other will be closed to traffic due to the construction overhead.  It will all result in a modern transit station but until then keep an eye out for the closures.  Follow this link for more information from SEPTA.
At the same time the City Streets Department is working on relighting the area under the El with LEDs similar to what are now in use at Front and Girard.  The result is a much brighter and safer area.  Plans are not finalized but the project is underway.  Follow this link to find out more about the benefits of LED lighting.
Natalie Cramer from the Welcoming Center for New Pennsylvanians  made a presentation on what services they provide.
Ronald Ryan of Townwatch Integrated Services updated the group on the services they provide and looked to get more business involvement.
The next meeting of the FBPA will be in April at a date, time and location to be announced.
