Weasels Wanted

I spent my spare time over the last few days reading the crime plan put together by Commissioner Ramsey. The headlines you have probably heard already. Put more cops where they are needed. (If you ever need a cop now go to the 1600 block of Foulkrod, any time day or night.) Better use of technology to schedule the police when and where they are needed. Lots of common sense stuff.

One of the shocking things to me is that at the time of the report, there were 2,810 outstanding warrants in the city. Those are arrest warrants that must mean something or else they would not have been issued. 2,810 wanted people. It must have impressed Ramsey too since he has since publicized, for the first time, a list of the top 150 wanted weasels in Philadelphia. This is in book form so that the cops know who they are looking for and now the public will too.

We gave it a run through and have identified those weasels who gave an address in Frankford and plotted them out on a map that you can see below. There are eight in total. Since they may still be lurking around their old stomping grounds, take a look at the complete list and see what the look like. You Don’t need these folks as neighbors. If you recognize anybody, call 911.

Despite low profile, Dougherty’s White highly regarded by Temple

Congratulations to Quinten White, a 6-3, 195-pound outside linebacker from Cardinal Dougherty.

White and a Dougherty teammate, Keith Dockery, attended a 1-day combine that happened to be held at Temple. Working with the defensive backs, White performed well. Owls assistant Curtis Bray pulled him aside and suggested he attend coach Al Golden’s camp. He did.

“Up to then I’d only been hearing from Bloomsburg and Shippensburg,” said White, who lives near Frankford and Church (map), in Frankford, and intends to become a fitness trainer. “But to go to coach Golden’s camp and then be told, ‘We’re looking at you,’ that really got my attention. I was pretty excited. On the way home on the bus, I was calling my friends. ‘Guess what happened today! . . . ‘ “
