It’s the First Day of Spring

I REMEMBER

Yes, I remember the first day of spring.

Weeping Willow’s dancing in the breeze.

Frozen lakes and rivers now running free.

Eagles flying high over cherry blossom trees.

It’s at this time when the air is sweet and clean.

It’s like a sweet and tender kiss coming off the ocean breeze.

Little old ladies scrubbing steps on bended knees.

YES-YES

I remember the first day of spring.

Price of Children’s Lives

NEAR AND FAR

We must ride the tide for Humanity, dig deep for sanity.
No longer can we not face reality, when the nature of life is not a fantasy.
When children are dying in buildings that they call sanctuaries.
Politicians should hear the call of parent’s near and far.
When children are dying not on the battlefield, but on school room floors,
Someone should pick up the call, with children going to school to learn-not to hide.
Where are our leaders?  Why can’t they hear the mother’s cry?

“Our kids don’t go to school to hide.”

Happy MLK Day

WHEN WE LOOK UP

Sometimes we’re so busy we can’t see the road,

when we keep looking down at our shoes.

When is the last time you looked up to the sky,

to see the clouds as they pass by.

When was the last time you looked at the stars and see how bright they really are?

How about the moon when it turns bright bright orange.

Sometimes we need to stop looking down at our shoes and look up and see the flowers as they bloom.

And maybe a rainbow to lighten the load and maybe a song for the long walk home.

The shocking truth is you have a lot to lose when you keep looking down at your shoes.

Happy New Year

YESTERYEAR

We will not, we shall not,

Let passion of yesteryear dictate.

The time has come, when we must run, and add technology into this race.

The sweat and tears of yesteryear, has gotten us to this place.

Let us not return to the old ways, but learn to pick up the pace.

Let not the past, but the future, be the only thing we allow time to dictate.

Now it’s time, to say goodbye-to the old, and welcome in the new-to take its place.

IN THIS NEW YEAR

TWO THOUSAND

EIGHTEEN

HAPPY NEW YEAR
