Art Holiday

Friday, June 20th, 2008

Trying to scope out some more information on the Art holiday transaction, we Googled the location listed on the BRT site for the owner.  6103 5th Avenue in Brooklyn is listed as the address for Compu City, a computer sales and service company.  The web site is basic and not very functional.  The business telephone is active.  The New  York department of state has no record of a corporation by that name.  This may mean nothing or it might mean a real business is coming to Kensingtin Avenue.

Part of the story about the Art Holiday has now emerged thanks to a tip from a reader.  The BRT web site shows it was sold on April 28th of this year to Eaglehead Realty Inc. a Pennsylvania corporation established in the same month.  The mailing address for the owner is Brooklyn New York.  The link to the BRT record is here.  Several Properties along Frankford Avenue are now in the hands of New Yorkers.  They know a bargain when they see one.

The unanswered question is what use do the new owners plan for this key building in the community.

A dumpster turned up in front of the Art Holiday today.  Something is going on in there.

I went by the Art Holiday last week on two different days and there was some activity going on inside.  At least that appeared to be the case since the security door was up on both days.  No record of a sale on the BRT site yet so maybe this is just routine maintenance to keep it from falling down.
