Halloween Safety Tips

THE 15TH DISTRICT WOULD LIKE ALL THE MEMBERS OF IT’S COMMUNITY TO HAVE A “SAFE & HAPPY HALLOWEEN”. BY FOLLOWING THESE SAFETY TIPS AND REMINDERS THE NIGHT CAN BE FUN FOR EVERYONE.

Make sure there is an adult in your child’s crowd. If you are going to be out driving on Halloween, please be on the look out for kids trick or treating.

Remind your children they should never get in a car of a stranger at any time…..If your children are approached tell them to scream as loud as then can to alert others and run as fast as they can to someplace safe.

Kids will be kids….explain to kids of all ages the difference between tricks and vandalism…..throwing eggs at a house may seem funny but they need to know the other side of the coin as well, that clean up and damages can ruin Halloween for everyone.

Help your child pick out a costume that will be safe….make sure that it is fire proof or treated with fire retardant….if they are wearing a mask of any kind, make sure that the eye holes are large enough for good peripheral vision. Carrying a flash light or glow stick will make your children more visible at night.

Please remind your children how to cross a street properly…..they should look both ways…and NEVER CROSS IN BETWEEN CARS.
