Royal Farms Coming to Frankford

At the Frankford NAC zoning meeting on May 14th, representatives made an informational presentation about plans to bring the first Royal Farms store in the City to Frankford.  The location will be the now vacant property on the NW corner of Church St. and Aramingo Avenue.

Royal Farms is similar to Wawa and is based in Baltimore.  They announced plans early this year to expand into this area.

Plans include 8 double sided gas pumps, 3 diesel, a car wash and convenience store with seating both indoors and outdoors.  The site would be landscaped.  There will eventually be as many as 50 jobs created at the facility.  The location is on the southbound side of Aramingo Avenue.  Wawa further down at Wheatsheaf Lane is on the Northbound side.  If all goes will, opening could be in late 2016.

Also at the zoning meeting:

  • The owner of 2116 Granite Street is seeking a variance to legalize one of street parking space.  In discussions with the owner, the board members disclosed an issue with the width of the curb cut.  They granted a continuance so the owner can work this out with the zoning board.
  • The owner of 1657 Dyer Street want a variance to legalize an existing duplex.  The was no community oppositions so a letter of support will go to the zoning board.

The next Frankford NAC zoning meeting will be on June 11th at 7PM at Second Baptist Church at 1801 Meadow Street.
