The I95 Southbound Ramp to Aramingo Avenue will close on Wednesday, September 21st for about 9 months.
From Marc Abrams at Eyewitness News: PennDOT will close the I-95 Southbound ramp to Aramingo Avenue at the Betsy Ross Bridge interchange as part of an ongoing construction project in the area.
PennDOT says there are signs out on the highway letting drivers know that the I-95 southbound exit ramp for Aramingo will be shut down on Wednesday.
PennDOT’s Gene Blaum says the ramp will be closed for nine months for reconstruction.
And, during that period, drivers will have two alternatives. Blaum recommends the first – exiting a Bridge Street.
“You’re going to come down the exit ramp, you’re going to make a left onto Bridge, a right onto Tacony Street which will then take you to Aramingo Avenue.”
Blaum says if you miss Bridge Street, the second alternative is two miles further down the road, Allegheny Avenue.
“If you choose to use the Allegheny Avenue off ramp you’re going to be turning left onto Allegheny Avenue, left onto Delaware Avenue, left onto Castor Avenue, to return to Aramingo.”
Blaum says the Aramingo Avenue ramp carries a substantial amount of traffic and drivers who use I-95 should expect delays when the ramp closes, especially during the morning rush.
