It’s a positive turn of events that overall crime in the 15th Police District PSA1 showed a decline in August and a larger drop in September. Even better is that crime with guns has dropped significantly in the last two months.
Did the bike cops make a difference in September? The police say the bikers have made some significant arrests since the first day and they certainly have been a visible presence in the areas where they are most needed.
Crime with guns from January through July ranged from 32 to 17 each month. In September there were 12.
Residential burglary from January through July ranged from 25 to 13 each month. In September there were 10.
Below you will find a comparison of September 2015 and 2016 and this is a link to a detail report, sorted by block. Take a look, you may not be aware of what is going on with your block. Note the DC-KEY number on any crime and you can trace it to see if an arrest has been made on Chris Sawyers Court Watch at this link. Over there its called the DCN.
Let’s hope for continued improvement in October.
