The parking lot of the shopping center at Castor and Wyoming Aves has been crater marked for as long as I can remember. So it was with astonishment that I saw there was actually a large repaved strip of parking lot there while driving by a couple weeks ago.
There is no word on whether this section in the middle of the parking lot got so bad they had to do a patch job or whether this is the first phase of a total repaving.
Central United Methodist Church at the corner of Orthodox and Griscom, who’s wall collapsed last August and was subsequently demolished, is now totally gone.
With that location directly across the street from an expanding Frankford Friends, I wonder if they would be interested in the lot.
On the consideration that we do a lot with video and pictures, we’ve updated our website to better showcase our multimedia. You may notice that there’s a lot more going on in the screen, and may feel a little cluttered right now, but we’re confident that our readers will get more out of it.

Calling all Frankford artists, Philly’s Open Studio Tours has registration open until June 1, to get involved in opening up your work space for tours. Studios east of Broad Street are set for tours October 15th and 16th. Frankford artist Jason Roberts and various residents at the Globe Dye Works participated last year. They were mistakenly located in Port Richmond, grrrrrh! Register here. I would love for the public to check out Mezalick Design, located under the El, this year.
