I am reaching out to provide you with a flyer promoting an event organized by the Frankford Schools Coalition.
The coalition is a vision brought to life by the principal at Warren G Harding Middle School, Mary Sanchez. In the light of several deaths of young people that she had a close association with, Mary felt it her purpose and duty to do more to uplift the citizens of Frankford and in turn create an environment where families and youth have productive outlets, support, tools to improve their lifestyles and a sense of connectedness to their fellow citizens.
Her first step was to reach out to other schools in our section of the city as well as some community organizations that had a common vision and invite them to join in on the initiative. Through the passion and outreach of those core members, the Coalition has taken on a life of its own and is growing beyond what anyone had originally imagined. This is only one event that we will be hosting and there will be many more in the future which we hope to share with you.
The Grand Army of the Republic Civil War Museum and Library,
