Frankford Library Welcomes New Children’s Librarian

We welcome Mr. Alberto Pagan-Ramirez to the branch as our  new Children’s Librarian! Mr. Pagan has already begun to start excellent and long lasting children’s programs. We are very excited to have him on board!

Frankford Library’s Summer Reading Programs for Children and Teens

Do you need more time on a computer to type a paper, write e-mails, search for and apply for jobs? Join us every first Tuesday for extended, two-hour computer sessions. Our Digital Resource Specialist will be available at this time to answer your computer questions. Space will be limited.
1st Tuesday of the month | 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

E-Gadget Help Desk Bring your e-gadgets and we’ll offer one-on-one help. Bring along your phone, Ipad, tablet or other device along with your library card. Space is limited and help is provided on a first-come, first served basis.

Comic Book Creation 101
Mr. Alleyne will provide a basic introduction to comic book illustration and writing. You will be shown examples of comic book illustration, and talk about how to describe, design, draw, ink and detail your own characters. Children 9-18.

Letter to My Father Literacy Workshops
Tina Smith Brown, creator of Letter2myFather, believes that relationship (or lack of relationship) with our fathers fundamentally impacts the direction of our lives. She also believes that any resulting misdirection can be effectively redirected through careful, critical and conscientious examination of self in light of that relationship. Through her very mobile, go-anywhere  literary workshops she lays a foundation for teens to effectively begin the process of self-examination that leads to healing and celebration!

The library has been without a Children’s Liberian for over a year. We hope to welcome our new Children’s Library on staff in the coming months. Frankford Library to Reopen August 31st

Monday, August 31st, the Frankford Library will reopen.  There will be reliable heat this winter and cooling that is really cool and many other improvements that will be visible when you step inside.

Join us for a lesson in Greyhounds. Mix and mingle with these lovely dogs.  Learn about their fascinating history and the qualities that have made them an outstanding companion animal for centuries.  We’ll have a retired racing greyhound to meet, pet and admire.  Presented by Teresa Glover of Citizens Against Greyhound Racing.
