I’m sorry this is last minute but I just found out we have lost our meeting space. We scrambled and the historical society will let us meet at their place on March 7th from 7 to 8. Friends of Overington Park meeting will be held at the Frankford Historical Society, 1507 Orthodox Street. Thanks, Diane

Caroling at Overington Park 12/16/2011
The annual caroling at Overington Park for this year is history. The weather was great. The people were spirited. The voices were in tune. Thanks to the Friends of Overington Park for making this year such a success for the park and the people of Frankford.

Just a reminder that its time again for Caroling at Overington Park. Friday night, December 16th at 7PM on the Pilling Street side is where the assembly will take place. The weather forecast is dry and cool, perfect and a bit warmer than last year. Come out and bring the kids. Take a look at last year’s event below.

Caroling in the Park
In what has become an annual tradition, the Friends of Overington Park will be caroling again this year. On Friday, December 16th at 7PM on the Pilling Street side of Overington Park, you can find them. This is a link to last year’s gathering which was cold but clear and filled with cheer. Rumor has it that Santa will definitely make an appearance.
Overington Park Love Your Park Day 11/12/2011
This past Saturday Overington Park held its Love Your Park day. 56 volunteers cleaned up Lieper street along the park, collecting over 50 bags of leaves, dug up 14 crates of tender tropical Cannas bulbs to be stored for winter, and planted 700 daffodils that should show themselves this coming spring.
Candy from our cancelled Halloween event and soft pretzels were enjoyed by all. 30 recycling buckets were given away. The PAWS group set up in the park giving out pet food, collars, and leashes. Low cost shots and micro-chips were available.
Once again the Frankford High School ROTC came out in force to help us power through the day. Thanks to all who came out to lend a hand or get some care for their pets, making our Love Your Park event a rousing success.
Our last event for 2011 will be Holiday Caroling in the park. Friday December 16th from 7 to 8 in the evening. This will be the second year for this event. Please come out and spend one hour with your neighbors sharing the spirt of the holidays. Wear a holiday hat if you have one and join us! It may be cold outside but the carols and the camaraderie will warm your heart.
Thanks to all for your support of the Friends of Overington Park!
