Longtime Frankford resident Tobi Sherwood, 57, passed away peacefully on the morning of January 5, 2014, surrounded by family. Raised in Germantown, Tobi was a graduate of the Lankenau School and Harcum Junior College and pursued a lifelong interest in nursing. Dubbed “Tobi-wan Kenobi” by co-workers at Fox Chase Cancer Center, she was renowned for her hyper-organization, work ethic, encyclopedic memory, and – above all – devotion to serving the needs of others. Throughout her large network, no family anniversary, event, or illness escaped her calendar and a mailed note in her unique script. Making others feel helped, looked after, and informed was always her top priority; especially for this generosity of spirit and for her wry humor she will be deeply missed. Devoted to refunding, family, Delaware Valley men’s college basketball, professional figure skating, and the U.S. Navy, Tobi made an indelible impression on all who knew her. She is survived by her mother Alma, of Linwood, New Jersey; brother Brent, of Altadena, California; and longtime companion Larry, of Phoenixville, Pennsylvania. Remembrances were private.
