Andrew Robert (Bob) Stokes’ life was cut short by a stroke at Mt. Sinai Hosp. in New York City on June 7, 2015. He was born in the Bronx, on August 6, 1950. He attended St. Anselem College where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree. He then went on to Fordham University for a Master of Science degree. He worked for Educate Online, the New York City Department of Education and Time, Inc.
He lived in Frankford on Worth Street and was often seen walking his dog “Ladybird” around Carmella playground. He also maintained a residence in New York City.
He was a world traveler and humanitarian volunteer. He taught computer skills in South Africa, Planted trees in Australia and taught English in Peru. He was a Writer and Poet.
He is survived by Marlene Brubaker and Karen Frederick; Children: Robert Ali Stokes, Roxanne Angelica Stokes, Christina Maria Stokes, Katarina Faith Brubaker-Escobar and Jacob Luis Brubaker-Escobar.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday June 16th at the Church of St. Charles Borremeo in Harlem in New York. A Life Celebration will be held with family and friends at The Chateau, in Philadelphia.
