Frankford Tree Lighting 2015

Thanks to the Gilbert family at the Holiday Thriftway on Frankford Avenue, Councilwoman Maria D. Quiñones-Sanchez, State Rep. Jason Dawkins and the Frankford Community Development Corporation, the holiday season was officially launched on Friday night, December 4th with the lighting of the tree.

The weather was beautiful and the kids excited as they had some light refreshments in anticipation of gifts that came after the tree blazed into its glory.

Old Heads Flashback

August 22nd was a perfect day for a cookout and the crowds came out in full force to Gambrel Recreation center for the 11th Annual Old Heads softball game, now called by many Frankford Day.

Kat and Ike Hardy were honored by Representative Jason Dawkins for their tireless work in organizing this event year after year.  State Senator Christine Tartaglione was a sponsor and came out to enjoy the fun.  Many former residents returned to reunite with old friends and family.  The video below is a walk through.

EPIC Stakeholders Says Goodbye

The last EPIC Stakeholders meeting was on June 25th and it was more of a celebration and thanksgiving event than anything else.  The Culinary crew at 2nd Baptist once again served a tasty meal as Nafisah Lewis thank all those people and groups who had contributed to the success of the group.  She may have another career as an entertainment entrepreneur as she introduced one talented performer after another.
