The office of Councilwoman Sánchez and Local Stakeholders group will host a meeting July 27, 2010 at 6:00PM, Frankford Friends School located on 1500 Orthodox St. The Meeting will be held in the middle school on Gillingham St. Please forward to other concerned groups to come out and form a plan to rid the violence from Overington Park.

By Grace Alone Frankford Fellowship at 4730 Oxford Avenue turned their attention this week to the lot at the corner of Foulkrod and Oxford Avenue. The former site of the old Bell Telephone building has seen better days since the garden was planted there. I happened to be coming down Oxford Avenue this afternoon and could not miss the folks stacking bags along the sidewalk. Here are some pictures of what they have accomplished over a few days of work.
The young guys I met today are Pastors Gabe and Bruce. They are both Frankford residents. Many of the young people out there pulling weeds were not from Frankf0rd however and that is an interesting story. I report on that some other time.

Northeast EPIC Community Stakeholders Meeting
Here is the full agenda of the Northeast EPIC Community Stakeholders meeting scheduled for this Thursday. Since Edmunds school is closed for the summer, it will be at Aria Health. They always run a good meeting. Might be interesting to attend.

Take Back the Night in Frankford
This is an interesting idea. It must be a good one because I have had it myself. People hesitate to go out in some areas of Frankford at night because they are afraid of the unsavory characters who come out after dark. So after dark, the only people out will be unsavory characters. The streets belong to us.
