What ever the Northwood Civic Association decides to do or not to do, there are even more dire problems on the horizon.
Friends Hospital is now being operated by the Scattergood Foundation and I have just received intelligence that there is a proposal on the table to build a 90 Unit condominium on their grounds.
Much like a little store on Horrocks Street, Friends Hospital is not subject to any Deed Restriction.
The Zoning in Northwood has been changed for the benefit of CTA to absorb Greenwood Cemetery for commercial use. It is now zoned as an IDD.
SEE the New Zoning on June 18, 2009: http://legislation.phila.gov/attachments/6680.pdf
Just before the new zoning – the NCA took money:
August 19, 2008 – Excerpt: Cancer Treatment Centers of America has donated $2,500 to the civic association. “with no strings attached”
http://www.northeasttimes.com/2008/0828/northwood.html
But right after the “donation” from CTCA, In December, the Northwood Civic Association approved their takeover of the Cemetery:

The Civic Association will be hard pressed to oppose other commercial/ industrial ventures, now they have accepted & supported one already. To do otherwise would show favoritism.
It did not happen on my watch.
