The 2012 Northeast Health and Economic Development Summit held on Saturday March 31st was formed out of a partnership between three Faith Based Organizations (Campbell AME Church, Second Baptist Church, and Faith Assembly of God), and representatives from the elected official offices, (Councilwoman Maria D. Quinones Sanchez and State Representative Tony Payton Jr.) to address the issues of hunger, health and economic opportunities in our neighborhood. Pastor Richard Smith, was the keynote speaker and addressed the issues of hunger in the community and the supply demand for our local pantries.
