An Evening with the Butch Ballard Trio

Butch BallardThe Historical Society of Frankford presented an evening with the Butch Ballard Trio last night.  This was a fund raiser for the benefit of the Bhilding Renovation Project.

It’s not every day we get to spend that much time with a legend but well over 100 people were there last night to enjoy the wine and cheese, the music and an opportunity to get together for a great cause.

Butch BallardThe Butch Ballard Trio last night was Butch on the drums, Sam Dockery on the piano and Dylan Taylor on the bass.  Now if we could make this a monthly event we would be on to something.  Butch Ballard Trio

Welcome

This is the first post from the new home of the Frankford Gazette.  We were on Blogger for almost a year and it served us very well.  We had time to start figuring this thing out.  We began with an idea and not much else and sometimes that is just enough.  Deciding to do it is the most important thing.  Everything else sort of follows from that point.

And now more of what we have been doing, some new things and hopefully some ideas from you readers.

Which brings us to our next series of posts.  Our good friend and local history researcher, Joe Menkovich, kindly offered to give us the benefit of some of his research.  So we will be posting some of his material over the next few weeks.  If you like or are even remotely interested in local history, you should find it interesting.

Stay tuned.

Frankford Crime Map

Thanks to the Northeast Times, who is publishing the crime log every other week, we have been able to update the map and now have data for the past 6 weeks. This is a link to the map. It is interesting, to say the least. Better to be informed and know what we are up against. The police will say that statistics show a decline in most crime and that may be the case. To me it seems to be spreading to areas that we did not previously find it. No corner of Frankford is immune. We are all in this together and solutions are needed now.
