Tire Dumpers Use Covid as Cover

There is nothing new about tire dumpers but its interesting that they may be emboldened by the Covid problems.  The city is scrambling to maintain basic services, so its a safe bet that these guys think they get a free pass to dump when and where they want.

So if you are near 2166 Granite Street in Frankford, a parking lot for the now shuttered Chateau Caterers, you may see a massive pile of tires.  Neighbors have reported it to 311 but no action so far.   DAY BY DAY THE MOUND GETS BIGGER.

Being so close to Torresdale Avenue, my guess would be they came from up that way.

Second Phase of Covid Rental Assistance

The City of Philadelphia is helping renters stay in their homes. One way is by offering emergency rental assistance to help tenants who have lost income due to COVID-19. Rental assistance helps landlords too.

The entire application must be completed with proof of income ID and copy of the lease. The landlord must sign a few documents as well.

Once the application is finished in its entirety, you have the option of either mailing it or faxing it. Partially completed applications will not be accepted.
