    Description-The Neighborhood Parenting Program is sponsoring a Free Bus Trip to The Garden State Discovery Museum on Saturday, May 10th, 2008 from 9 am to 2 pm for parents and their young children. The Garden State Discovery Museum is a hands-on museum for young children. It offers fifteen larger-than-life, kid powered interactive exhibit areas. You’ll be able to get inside of a gigantic bubble, scale a rock climbing wall, bandage a wounded teddy bear, whip up a pretend exotic meal at the Discovery Diner or build a two-story house! Space is limited. First come, first served! Pack a brown bag lunch to eat there for you and your children. The Neighborhood Parenting Program, a part of Frankford Group Ministry, provides parenting classes, trips and activities for parents and their children age 12 and under.     Description-Frankford Garden club is holding a plant sale in front of the Frankford library on Sat. May 10. 2008, from 10am to 2pm. We are hoping to catch those mother’s day shoppers with beautiful plants for Mom or any gardener ready to kick off the planting season.

Northeast Frankford Boys & Girls Club

 

City Year Team Leads Legacy Project with Students and Staff from Frankford High School and Surrounding Community

                                                           
Philadelphia, PA – On Saturday May 3rd, City Year, in partnership with the Northeast Frankford Boys & Girls Club and the Frankford High School Student Board, will lead a day-long community service project.  The day will take place at the Northeast Frankford Boys & Girls Club, which has been serving the community and its youth for sixty years.  On Saturday, over 85 volunteers will serve the club by cleaning and painting the facility, planting a garden, and creating 3 canvas murals.

The morning will begin with an opening program, which will highlight the importance of service and building communities.  The project will begin at 9:00 and run until 12:30.  Joining us in service will be the club’s Program Director Greg Taylor and the Unit Director Ninette Cooper.  It will be a day of fun, service and excitement. Please join us, everyone is welcome, and we would love to have you attend.

Senator Tartaglione will be at the Girls and Boys Club This Saturday!  You are invited to come!
