Frankford NAC Busy Night

Frankford NAC zoning meeting was busy on December 12th as it heard 5 cases and ruled on one no show.

5127 Duffield Street– Case was dismissed since applicant failed to show.

5216 Horrocks Street– family daycare to group daycare- 13 approved it.

4562 Hawthorne Street – 1 opposed (Car repair)

4250 Torresdale Avenue – non opposition (Auto locksmith)

4623 Mulberry Street– Triplex – 2 approved no opposed

2021 Orthodox Street – 10 foot high fence approved by 2 votes

The next meeting of the Frankford NAC zoning group will be held on January 11, 2018 at 4667 Paul Street.

Frankford NAC to Tackle 6 Zoning Cases to End the Year

The Frankford NAC will meet on Thursday, December 13 at 7 pm at 4667 Paul Street.

The following properties up for review:

5127 Duffield Street- continued from last month – Develop lot into Veterans housing

4562 Hawthorne Street– continued from last month – Auto Repair shop

4623 Mulberry Street– legalization of a three family structure

5216 Horrocks Street– daycare

2021 Orthodox Street– legalization of a 20 foot fence

4250 Torresdale Avenue– legalization of a car repair shop

Eligible Voters: Community and Neighborhood Residents/ Residents must have ID in order to vote.

Frankford NAC Zoning November Wrap Up

There were 5 cases on the agenda for the meeting on November 9th.

  • 5127 Duffield Street – Develop lot into Veterans housing – Continued, the applicant did not appear.
  • 4535 Tackawanna Street – Legalization of a five-dwelling unit – Opposed by 2.  Application was disallowed for 5 units because of no egress for basement and no safe access out for the attic.  The zoning board’s recommendation is 3.
  • 4416 Frankford Avenue – To be used as a Hall/ Entertain Events with food service.  Approved – The kitchen is to be used to feed the youth who come in for boxing classes and events.
  • 4938 Penn Street – Rooming house for six individuals – Opposed by 2 votes. Applicant’s lawyer mentioned that applicant will probably withdraw application because of the opposition and then reapply at a later date.
  • 4562 Hawthorne Street – Auto Repair shop – Continued until next meeting.

The next Frankford NAC Zoning meeting will be held on December 14th at 7 PM at the Daral Building, 4667 Paul Street.

Historical Society of Frankford – Tue, October 10, 7:30pm, 1507 Orthodox Street –  THE NATURAL WORLD UNDER GLASS -John Whitenight, www.underglassavictorianobsession.com – John is a retired art teacher and an avid collector, author, and lecturer on Victorian Glass Domes which were a prominent fixture in the parlors of many 19th Century homes. Within the domes were arrangements of dried flowers and wax fruit, as well as constructions from nature which included taxidermied birds, wildlife, and even deceased pets. The Historical Society’s collection of Victorian Parlor Domes from homes in Frankford will be displayed.
