Community Meeting About Wissinoming Park

Frankford Garden Club members,

The flyer for the meeting is attached, and the information is also below-

The Recreation Center in Wissinoming Park is our Home base. It has been an ideal location – handicap accessible, with a restroom, refrigerator, tables and chairs, all the amenities! we are able to make our flower arrangements, serve refreshments & meet in comfort (heat in the winter, AC in the summer) We want to let the City know that we appreciate and value this Rec Center, and hope that we will be able to continue to make use of it.

There will be a community meeting about Wissinoming Park, Tuesday, June 11, at 6:30pm held at the Lower Mayfair Recreation Center,  3001 Robbins Ave (between Battersby and Hawthorne Sts).

The meeting is being held by the Phila Parks & Recreation along with the Fairmount Park Conservancy and PHS the flyer says

” CHANGES ARE COMING TO WISSINOMING PARK. COME TELL US WHAT YOU LOVE, WHAT THE CHALLENGES ARE, AND WHAT YOU WOULD LIKE TO SEE! ”

FGC members have contributed their time and energy as well as baked goods and plants to Wissinoming Pk for cleaups, fundraisers, and Park events. Now, let us get to the meeting to make sure that the City knows how important the Center is to us!

I am sending this email to Jennifer Mahar and Erin Englestad who are the meeting coordinators.

Thank you all

Janet E Bernstein
