It’s called the Pioneer Meet Factory Supermarket at 5353 Oxford Avenue and they are having a soft opening. Grand opening will come in a couple of weeks. This means they are open for business but may not be fully stocked yet and the EBT system isn’t up and running either.
The first thing that struck me when I went is was how clean and bright it is inside. They did a lot of work on it since it was the auto parts store. There is what looks like a great meat selection with band names of cold cuts. The grocery and dairy area is well stocked. The people are all friendly and happy to meet you.
The best way to see what is there is to stop by. They are open 7 days a week from 8 AM to 8 PM. Call 215-289-8008 for more information.
Hopefully it will contribute to ending the food desert in the area. Whatever happened to the shuttered in black material old Food Fair store which was supposed to be demoed for a Rite Aid?
