LIFE GOES ON

LIFE GOES ON

You taught me to love again:
From the rumbling torture of my heart;
In the depth of pain in my wounded soul,
With nothing left but solitude and regret.

Thinking that I would never love again.
Like the beginning and the end,
Somewhere in between you came in as a friend,
And you taught me to love again.

I no longer struggle from morning until night,
You came along and showed me the light.
No more anguish, no more pain,
You told me that life goes on;
To pick up my head and not be a shame.

You taught me to love again.

Important PennDOT Notice

PennDOT Posts Public Notice to Solicit Comment on How Proposed Improvements to I-95 in Philadelphia Benefit the Frankford Arsenal

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is soliciting public comment on a Public Notice published on the Interstate 95 project website (95revive.com) that describes the proposed improvements to I-95 in the Bridesburg, Frankford and Wissinoming sections of Philadelphia and how those improvements will benefit the Frankford Arsenal property.

Because the Arsenal is listed in the National Register of Historic Places, PennDOT is required to prepare a Section 4(f) environmental study to determine if the proposed improvements will return the Arsenal to a physical condition that is better than that which presently exists. The Section 4(f) study contains a “finding”, contained in the Public Notice, that the proposed improvements will have a “Net Beneficial Use” of the Arsenal property.

PennDOT will incorporate the public comments on the “Section 4(f) Net Benefit Finding” in its submission of the required Section 4(f) Environmental Document to the Federal Highway Administration.

The Public Notice can be found at http://95revive.com/news/section-bs2-public-notice/.

Public comments may be submitted by January 29, 2021in writing, by email, or by phone to Colleen Meiswich. Those without internet access may contact Colleen Meiswich to obtain a copy of the Public Notice.

Tire Dumpers Use Covid as Cover

There is nothing new about tire dumpers but its interesting that they may be emboldened by the Covid problems.  The city is scrambling to maintain basic services, so its a safe bet that these guys think they get a free pass to dump when and where they want.

So if you are near 2166 Granite Street in Frankford, a parking lot for the now shuttered Chateau Caterers, you may see a massive pile of tires.  Neighbors have reported it to 311 but no action so far.   DAY BY DAY THE MOUND GETS BIGGER.

Being so close to Torresdale Avenue, my guess would be they came from up that way.
