Over the weekend I teased you about what Jason Roberts was working on over at the Dye Works. Well the wait’s over, because….
These doors
being constructed at the Globe Dye Works inside this building
are going to set up where the gate is here:
Anyone recognize this place? It’s Silk City.
Silk City is so cool it’s regularly listed in Philebrity. Take a second on all this. It’s shocking. It can’t be. Yet it is. Nothing grows in Frankford. Nothing. And it’s not the only example I have to show you.
You’ll have to excuse me for being a drama queen about this but this something good coming out of Frankford and I’m just trying to drill it home. I’ll have more on the metal work already setup tomorrowish. And I’ll have more the other stuff going on in the months to come.
Jason Roberts, 28, is a metal smith who has set up shop at the Globe Dye Works, it’s very first tenant, for more than a year and four months. He’s originally from Royersford in Montgomery County, and after studying fine metal and silver smithing at Kutztown University, he plied his trade in North Carolina, Illinois and England. What’s he do? Apparently tons of stuff that deals with working metal into cool stuff.
Jason is the real deal, and while he’s in Frankford doing his thing, we’ll try to keep up with him and show this city what great things are coming out of Frankford these days. Case in point, do you see what he’s standing in? Can you take a guess what it is? Or better yet, where it’s going to be installed. Cause when I found out, I was pretty impressed. You only have a few days to guess, cause I just gotta share this. Welcome to Frankford Jason, even though you’ve been here a while.
