Jon Campisi strikes again in the Northeast Times about new blood(or lack therof) in Northeast Philly’s civic associations. A bright spot is the Frankford Civic’s Brian and Tim Wisniewski.
What gives Campisi? Can’t help but notice they got front page above the fold WITH pic but you relegated our article on May 22nd to page 16. SIXTEEN Campisi? All jokes aside, very encouraging to see others under 40 taking an interest in Frankford.

Members of the Frankford Civic Association, who have opposed the recent influx of drug and alcohol rehabilitation facilities in the neighborhood, addressed a member of Mayor Michael Nutter’s staff at their meeting last week, attempting to seek resolution to the issue.
Roland Lamb, director of the Office of Addiction Services in the Department of Behavioral Health & Mental Retardation Services, sought to dispel some of the myths tied to these types of facilities, although he also told the group he could relate to their concerns over quality of life.

Part of the story about the Art Holiday has now emerged thanks to a tip from a reader. The BRT web site shows it was sold on April 28th of this year to Eaglehead Realty Inc. a Pennsylvania corporation established in the same month. The mailing address for the owner is Brooklyn New York. The link to the BRT record is here. Several Properties along Frankford Avenue are now in the hands of New Yorkers. They know a bargain when they see one.
The unanswered question is what use do the new owners plan for this key building in the community.
