Northeast Times

I get to a lot of meetings and as a result I meet some of the other folks covering the Frankford news.  We get TV sometimes of course but we always can count on NEastPhilly and the Northeast Times.  NEastPhilly is online and you can get their full coverage right there on your computer.  The Northeast Times is online but their full edition is still printed and distributed.  It has ads and a bunch of other stuff that is not available online.

You may have a hard time finding one in Frankford though.  I have looked and it seems that they think we can’t read or don’t shop.  If you would like to suggest that they distribute the Northeast Times in Frankford again, you can contact Mr. Perry Corsetti via e-mail at pcorsetti@bsmphilly.com.

Frankford Parks Group

From Kimberly Washington, Esq. President:

Thank you to all the volunteers who participated in our cleanup on Saturday, April 2nd.  I would like to especially thank the women from the Frankford Garden Club who did all of the gardening for both of our parks and the Frankford CDC for distributing recycling bins to residents.  If you have gone by Wilmot park you will notice that the installation of the playground equipment has begun.  We will be meeting again on Saturday, April 16th for the Luv Your Park Clean-Up from 10:00am until 1:00pm. We really need more volunteers from the community to participate.

On Saturday we will be painting the basketball court in Wilmot as well as cutting the grass and removing all the trash and debris from both parks.  Hopefully we can count on the community residents to help us with this project.

Our next meeting will be on Monday, April 18th 2011 at 6:00pm at 2nd Baptist Church (1801 Meadow Street). Hope to see you all there.
