I was browsing the schedule for zoning hearings for next week and found an application by Mastery Charter School – Smedley for an addition to the building. Looks like the are going to build. Investment in education sounds good for the kids and the community.

It may have taken over a century but St. Joachim School finally has an alumni association. While the school has closed, the spirit lives on and it is in that spirit that well over 200 people gathered after the 10:30 Mass last Sunday for the first meeting. It was like a reunion with old and younger alike browsing through the old pictures and papers that documented their years at the corner of Penn and Church Streets.
