Walking Up Frankford Avenue

I’ve been trying to do this video for a few weeks but the weather and a busy summer got in the way.  Finally got to walk it yesterday.  We get quite a few people who have moved away from Frankford reading the Gazette and this is mainly for them and others who have not been here.  It was early but I wanted to get ahead of the traffic.  I did walk right up the middle of the Avenue under the El which made it easier.  I thought it would be much shorter and may edit it down a bit more.  There are a few things I did not get that I want to go back and fill in.  Feel free to comment with anything important that I should add.

New Businesses on Main Street

Such a nice day, I had to walk around a bit.  The mystery of the former American Pants property continues.  Lot’s of work being done but no sign of what it will become.  Does anybody have a clue?

New little produce store at 4611 Frankford Avenue,  run by two nice African gentlemen.

Also met some folks on Griscom Street trying to get into the Frankford Group Ministry office.  It was closed with no notice or anything on the door to say what was happening.  This was a tip from one of our faithful readers.  Thanks Crazymommy.

Parking meters on Frankford Avenue in Frankford

The good news keeps rolling in thanks to councilman Dan Savage. Parking meters were previously required to be fed up until 9:30 PM Friday and Saturday nights. Today the new signs were posted that give you free parking after 6PM every night of the week. This then provides free parking for those patronizing Mozaic.
