Pigeon Poo
This morning a pigeon did alight on my door, I thought to myself, “What is he here for?” Looking out at the bare frozen ground, I saw not a morsel could be found. The sparrows also were waiting for, The crumbs to be thrown out my door. Turning, I found two pieces of bread, And broke it for the birds to be fed. Please, little birds, when I hand my sheets white, Remember today I gave you your first bite.St. James Coffee House
Frankford Civic Meeting Update
There were no active zoning issues to discuss at the Frankford Civic Association meeting on August 1st but residents attending brought some concerns to the table.
You can buy shots of liquor to go on the 4500 block of Frankford Avenue. This is illegal but not prosecuted in Frankford and residents attending would like it stopped. Drug trade continues to plaque certain businesses at Oxford and Frankford. The presence of the bike patrol officers just moves them around until the police pass and then they get back to business.
Zoning cases that fall outside of the Frankford Civic area are:
- 1116 E. Cheltenham Ave – Day Care
- 1167 Bridge St. – Grocery
- 1246 E. Cheltenham Ave. – Day Care
- 5020-28 Leiper St. – Church
- 2080 Castor Ave. – Church
Representative Clay has announced there will be a Town Hall meeting on the recovery house issue. It will be held at Aria Hospital on September 19th. More details will follow.
The next meeting of the Frankford Civic Association will be held on September 5th at 7PM at Aria Hospital.
