Following the first program of the Fall season by Pat Smiley on the Step into History Tours (running on the first Sunday of each month), this month’s program is on Wednesday, October 12th at 7:30 PM (note the change in schedule):
Fred Prescott’s career as a cartographer included five years of service with the Aero Space Corporation of Philadelphia. He will discuss some of his most interesting and challenging projects including development of highly classified military maps and the tax map of Orange County, New York and laying out lunar landing strips for NASA.
After the Q&A refreshments will be available. Members free, visitors $5.
Globe Dye Works at Kinsey and Worth Streets, a collection of 10 industrial buildings that houses tenants like Rival Bros. Coffee and Philadelphia Wooden Boat Factory, is looking for a new owner willing to take the reigns of a massive 145,000-square-foot artisan community. Follow the link below for the rest of the story.

The church, located at 4917 Frankford Avenue opposite Aria Jefferson Hospital, was originally built for the North Frankford Baptist Church in 1911.
It has been the home of the Second Spanish Baptist Church for several years now.
In May of 2014, it was severely damaged by fire. With the help of insurance money and fund raising, repairs were made and the congregation was able to once again use the church.
I met them on Saturday having a sidewalk sale. They say the are looking to purchase headphones that are able to translate Spanish into English for the English speaking visitors.
We welcome them back to Frankford.
