4691 Hawthorne St.
To the neighbors who live in the area of Hawthorne and Margaret Street near the old TNT bar. The new owners wish to open a grocery store at that location. We met with them several months ago about the opening. Many neighbors had concerns about what will be coming to this corner. There will be a special meeting to address the concerns of the neighbors.
The meeting will be held on Thursday August 16, 2012 at 7 PM at ARIA health Center, the old Frankford Hospital second-floor lunchroom. The owners will be present to answer any questions. Please tell your neighbors to attend. Their voice is valuable.

It was all about zoning at the Frankford Civic Association meeting on August 2nd.
4327 Penn Street – Angela Raymond operates a family child care center and has an application to increase it to a group day care center which has a maximum of 12 children.
4691 Hawthorne St. – Cecilia Reyes has applied for zoning for a retail grocery store at the former location of the T&T bar (corner of Hawthorne and Margaret). Due to the history of this location in the community, the Frankford Civic Association will hold a neighborhood meeting (date and time to be announced) on the issue before a decision is made.
4834 Penn St. – Deacon Lamont Purnell made a presentation on the plans for Innovative Treatment Alternatives Inc. (INA) to open a Veterans Shared Living environment. His presentation was the same as we previously covered at the Northeast EPIC Stakeholders meeting. Documentation was provided at the meeting which you can review here. The next step is or INA to prepare floor plans for the property that will meet the zoning requirements of the 11 family building.
The next meeting of the Frankford Civic Association will be on September 6th at 7PM at Aria Hospital.

The 611 Action hearing to keep the Hawthorne Street bar (where Chris Spence was murdered) shut down is May 2nd, at 10am, in Courtroom 426 at City Hall. Concerned citizens are encouraged to attend.
Now that the pols have done their work, its time for the community to come out and make your voices heard.
