St. James Lutheran Church Last Service

Story by Sephanie Cook

Due to funding shortfalls and decreased attendance, St. James’ last service will be on Sunday April 28, 2019.

The good news, however, is that we will be opening a non-denominational Christian church in it’s place.   We will be at the same location.

Salvation Army to Return to Frankford

Welcome Home

After a number of idle years, The Salvation Army is to reopen it’s Frankford Center at 4342 Frankford Avenue.

I spoke with Major Frederick Clarke, Corps Officer, and he stated that after some repair work to update the Center and installation of a handicap accessible elevator, the center is looking to reopen at the start of 2020.

Major Clarke also stated that he desires to work closely with the Community and plans are to provide counseling services to the area.  The plan is to relocate the 1920 E. Allegheny Ave. Corps Center to Frankford and close that one due to high repair costs of the building.

Thanks for the tip from Rev. Patrick Hodynski, F.O.R.C.E. Philadelphia
